Castletown is a small village in county laois. Its on the road, R445, between Mountrath and Pike of Rushall.
It has a park on the banks of the river Nore and with a little waterfall and with an old building in the skyline it makes for a very picturesque scene.

I had to look twice to see the horse looking out the door is actually a painting The river Nore was not very deep at Castletown, the day I visited. The bridge in the distance is on the main road. I have seen teenagers dive into the river from it. There is a lovely grass portion for people to walk along the river or sit and relaxVery important wall, it even has a plaque telling us about it, alas, I need to stop and read it. Once I find out why it is so famous, I will let you know.
