Glenbarrow Waterfall

Glenbarrow Waterfall

Glenbarrow Waterfall is in the Slieve Bloom at the source of the River Barrow, which is the second longest river in Ireland. It is one of the most beautiful parts of the Slieve Bloom.  The day I was there, just after Christmas, there was lots of families walking.

There is three loop walks all starting at the car park. By the waterfall there is high steps so I would think it would not be suitable, for walking, for prams or older people.

The directions, which I took from the Slieve Bloom website is to Start from the village of Rosenallis on the R422 between Clonaslee and Mountmellick. On the sharp bend follow the signpost for Glenbarrow L2018. After 2km take a right turn at a junction. After 2.5km turn left at a crossroads. This takes you to Glenbarrow Car Park (N 367 081).
